Classes and Programs

Register for classes either through the instructor or at the front desk.  Members are encouraged to try classes first and register if they plan to continue attending.  Class size is limited if listed in the descriptions below.

The NRH Senior Center has something for everyone!

 

Classes are offered weekly to fulfill your exercise, educational, and social needs as well as many others!  Please see our class descriptions below or contact the NRH Senior Center front desk for more information.

Exercise

Silver Sneakers - Stay active with weekly exercise classes.  You can participate if you are a Silver Sneakers member or you may pay $15/monthly.  You must sign up for this class each month.  Class is limited to the first 25 people who check-in per day.

Just Keep Movin' - Join Julie for a class filled with music, movement, and fun!  Fantastic music keeps you singing along as you drum on exercise balls and move to the music.  While this class can work up a sweat and add lots of steps to your day, everyone is encouraged to move at their own pace and Just Keep Movin'.

Yoga/Pilates - Move your whole body safely to increase flexibility, balance, and range of motion.

Tai Chi - A series of postures and movements that is gentle on the muscles and effective in increasing mobility, flexibility and balance.

Chair Yoga - Move your whole body safely to increase flexibility, balance and range of motion with this DVD exercise class.  Standing and chair exercises are both part of this workout.  Great class for those just starting to consider exercise as well as those that would like a smooth overall stretch after exercising.

Light and Lively - This is an informal exercise class with wonderful friends.  Routines are taught by a CD; there is no instructor.  This is a basic exercise class designed to be taken at your own pace.

Chair Yoga Plus - A step up from Chair Yoga, class involves more standing and stronger exercises.

 Yoga with Connie -  Find ways to enhance your endurance and flexibility through classic yoga techniques.  Floor component is required; Class size is limited.
